This has been an excellent year for Charterhouse Oxbridge applications. Twenty-four Carthusians have been offered a place to study at Oxford or Cambridge, the highest number for the School since 2005. Fourteen pupils have an offer from Cambridge, and 10 pupils have an offer from Oxford. The twenty-four offers cover a wide range of subject areas including Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Computer Science, English, History, Modern Languages and Music.
The Oxbridge admissions process is extremely competitive and demanding. To be invited for interview, applicants are required to submit written work and sit aptitude tests. If successful at this stage, applicants then face two or three interviews in their chosen subject from fellows of the university. To achieve the offer of a place is a significant achievement. This year’s excellent results are certainly cause for celebration.
