After an excellent performance in the opening round of the Intermediate Mathematics Challenge, three Carthusians qualified for the British Intermediate Mathematical Olympiad which is designed for the top mathematicians in the country.
The Intermediate Olympiad is aimed at pupils in Year 11 or below. The challenge involves answering difficult algebra, pre-calculus as well as other varied mathematics questions. The papers are marked by UKMT.
Owen Chan (Year 10) scored a distinction mark that placed him in the top fifty students in the country, which is a truly outstanding achievement. For his efforts, he is awarded a silver medal.
