Cosima Graef (Year 13) entered her project on an autonomous robot car to this year’s Mark Evison Foundation Challenge. Cosima has been very interested in robots and this project gave her the opportunity to learn and develop new skills on this topic.

The Mark Evison Foundation promotes the personal development of young people through various challenges to enhance confidence, strength, resilience and breadth, as applicants take independent ownership of a project of their choice. The scheme was set up in memory of Lt Mark Evison who died in 2009 from a gunshot wound while serving as a British army officer in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. He was attempting to get the platoon to safety following an ambush.

Kayleigh Rayiru from the Mark Evison Foundation commented:

“I thought that you might like to read the report that Cosima wrote about her challenge – it is very impressive. She did very well in problem solving and overcoming all of the technical difficulties that arose.”

The report and photographs she submitted can be viewed below:

We congratulate Cosima on this impressive achievement.
