Adjutant of the Charterhouse Combined Cadet Force (CCF), Captain Verna Jacqueline Burrell-Taylor, has received a ‘Member of the Order of the British Empire’ (MBE) in the Military Division of the 2017 New Year Honours. Captain Burrell-Taylor was honoured under the Army Awards for ‘Promotions in and Appointments to the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath’.
Andrew Turner, Headmaster, says: "We are delighted with the news that Verna has been awarded an MBE in recognition of her 32 years’ service to the Cadets. Her professionalism and enthusiasm is much appreciated by us all at Charterhouse and we are pleased for Verna that her dedication has been recognised beyond the School."
A total of 38 civilians have been honoured either for their work in the MOD or in other aspects of Defence, along with 114 service personnel.
